BROODSTOCK SEX RATIO IMPROVES FRY PRODUCTION IN NILE TILAPIA(OREOCHROMIS NILOTICUS) IN NORTHERN SENEGAL

This present study was conducted to determine fry production in different male-female sex ratios of Oreochromis niloticusbroodstock order improve production, which handicapped the development fish farming northern Senegal. A total 180 broodfish (47 males and 133 females) were stocked at a density 2 /m2and replicated three times for each ratio 1:2, 1:3and 1:4 (male : female). Mean body weight ranges from 136.47±2.13 107.27±2.14 g female male O. niloticusbroodstock, respectively. The experiment 90 days broods fed on commercial diet containing 32% crude protein.Fish held 9 rectangular tanks 30 m3 (10 × 3 1) half-filled. results showed that number produced significantly different, with 1:2 producing highest (279.67) per female, followed by treatment recorded lowest.Broodstock also did not affect survival rates all treatments had 100% rates. Temperature, dissolved oxygen pH values obtained suitable good water quality normal tilapia reproduction.In conclusion, recommend stock niloticus brooders when /m2 1 obtain production.
